Discovering the possibilities

Launched in May 2022, Qufora IrriSedo Flow takes an innovative approach to water flow management. As well as being able to qualify our approach and design, we need to be able to quantify the ease with which a healthcare professional can deliver the benefits of the product and technique of effectively using the product to patients.

In our latest post market surveillance, we captured detailed feedback from a number of healthcare professionals who have used Qufora IrriSedo Flow with their patients.

We believe all patients deserve the right to rectal irrigation solutions that fit seamlessly into their lives. To do that, the system needs to be easy to use. Evaluation results and background

Post market surveillance (PMS) of a product with a healthcare professional (HCP) is central to appraising the components of a product. In addition, it is fundamental to quantify the ease with which an HCP can deliver the educational content and technique of a product to a patient. This in turn ensures that the HCP and MacGregor Healthcare are working and succeeding together by providing high quality benchmarked information. Furthermore, this assists to reinforce claims made at the product launch.

The purpose of this post market evaluation of the Qufora IrriSedo Flow with healthcare professionals (HCP) is to ensure the product meets with the fundamentals of the ‘Clinical Evaluation Report’ and follows the guidelines of Articles 83, 84 and 85 in MDR 2017/745 (Appendix 3). Additionally, PMS can also assist in identifying areas for development and ultimately provide an important basis for product quality improvement. This gives an insight into the needs of the patient and the HCP, which is aligned to the MacGregor Healthcare mission, vision, and values.

A total of 82 HCPs from varying NHS Trusts were asked to evaluate the Qufora IrriSedo Flow following their prescribing of the product, regardless of the number of times the product was taught. Of these, 57 responded, giving a very good response rate of 70%.

This summary of the evaluation report presents the collected data from HCPs who have used the new Qufora IrriSedo Flow (QIF) with their patients during the period June 22 – November 22. All HCPs who registered a patient for this product on Qufora Direct were emailed and asked to complete a questionnaire via an online link, which complied with general data protection regulation (GDPR). Questionnaires remained anonymous unless the HCP chose to share their contact details and agreed to any information being shared beyond the company.
